00:00<MarkK>No problem.
00:01<MarkK>I'll be off, then
00:01<grumpy>ok
00:01<MarkK>goodnight
00:01<Julian>$self->sleep(25200);
00:02<grumpy>see you tomorrow
23:01<Julian>Lah dee dah.
23:02<grumpy>hi guys
23:03<MarkK>sorry I am a bit late
23:03<grumpy>wait(gconnor,freeside)
23:04<MarkK>I hope greg shows up
23:05<freeside>moo.
23:06<grumpy>wait(gconnor || 15min) ?
23:06<MarkK>seems reasonable
23:07<Julian>Yes.
23:12<grumpy>"ASMG"... that was the name of the committee
23:12<MarkK>wrong window?
23:12<grumpy>no...
23:13<grumpy>I would like to officially close that committee, just to clean up loose ends
23:13<grumpy>but I couldn't remember what it was called.
23:13<Julian>AMSG. Accountable Messaging Standards Group.
23:13<MarkK>Oh yes, like you yalked about yesterday
23:14<Julian>Let's repeal resolution #9 <http://new.openspf.org/Council_Resolution/9>.
23:14<grumpy>I am quite willing to shut up about it if the discussion would cause more work than just leaving it as a dead list.
23:15<Julian>Oops, did I just make use of an unofficial domain for official purposes?
23:16<Julian>I can word an appropriate amendment for res#9.
23:19<grumpy>ok, well, should we move ahead?
23:19<grumpy>(e.g. timeout on gconnor)
23:19<MarkK>we have quorum, so yes
23:20<grumpy>freeside: are you still here?
23:20*grumpy wonders if we have a quorum...
23:21<grumpy>freeside?
23:22*grumpy sighs
23:23<grumpy>wait(gconnor || freeside || 10min) ?
23:23<MarkK>for pete's sake; sigh
23:24<MarkK>yes, lets wait a bit more
23:24<grumpy>freeside?
23:26<grumpy>Julian's (second?) domain name motion was: http://archives.listbox.com/spf-council@v2.listbox.com/200508/0023.html
23:27<grumpy>Greg's second: http://archives.listbox.com/spf-council@v2.listbox.com/200508/0027.html
23:27<grumpy>Julian votes "yes" http://archives.listbox.com/spf-council@v2.listbox.com/200508/0030.html^A
23:28<freeside>ok
23:28<grumpy>MarkK votes "yes" http://archives.listbox.com/spf-council@v2.listbox.com/200508/0032.html
23:28<grumpy>Whee!
23:29<freeside>i vote yes too
23:29<freeside>sounds good to me
23:29<grumpy>Whee!
23:29<grumpy>for the record, let me find Greg's vote
23:29<MarkK>good, we have quorum again
23:30*grumpy tries looking in the correct month for Greg's vote
23:30<Julian>I wonder if Greg has learned about the repeated attempt at a meeting today.
23:31<grumpy>Greg votes "yes" http://archives.listbox.com/spf-council@v2.listbox.com/200509/0005.html
23:31<grumpy>Julian: I'm not sure.
23:31<grumpy>Ok, shall we call the meeting to order?
23:31*grumpy takes the silence as a "yes"
23:31<MarkK>please, do
23:32<grumpy>Ok, since we don't have a real agenda, I think we should start with agenda bashing.
23:32<freeside>i have to run in about 20 minutes.
23:32<grumpy>I propose 1) ratifying the domain name vote, as above
23:32<grumpy>and 2) closing down ASMG
23:32<grumpy>what do other people have?
23:32<Julian>nil
23:33<grumpy>freeside? MarkK?
23:33<freeside>nothing from me
23:33<grumpy>Ok, well, let's start off with chair and ed reports
23:33<Julian>Reports?
23:33<grumpy>yeah
23:33<grumpy>Uh, I've been a bum and haven't done a heck of a lot since the last meeting.
23:34<grumpy>I *did* check with the RFC editor to make sure there wasn't anything that I needed to do to move the SPF I-D forward.
23:34<grumpy>I received two different replies from two of the four(?) RFC Editors. One said September, the other said 3-4 months before they would get to it.
23:34<Julian>Ahem.
23:34<Julian>Hrrm.
23:35<grumpy>Other than the small flurry of minor bug reports about a month ago, I haven't heard of any complaints about the draft.
23:35<Julian>I suggest we include reports from the other council members, too, but postpone all the reports until after we finished items #1 and #2, which require quorum.
23:35<grumpy>I certainly hope it is in good shape.
23:35<grumpy>ok, that's all I have.
23:36<grumpy>Julian: ok
23:36<grumpy>Uh, the official domain name.
23:36<grumpy>As I linked to above, the motion has 4 yes votes, so it carries
23:36<grumpy>openspf.org is now the official domain name.
23:36<Julian>Woohoo!
23:36<grumpy>any comments before I move on to item 2?
23:36<grumpy>if so, type ... quickly.
23:36<Julian>...
23:37<freeside>openspf.org right now is a rant against sender id.
23:37<freeside>are we going to point that at the spf.pobox.com site for now?
23:37<Julian>freeside: Yes, absolutely.
23:37<grumpy>freeside: yes
23:37<freeside>okie dokey.
23:37<grumpy>Julian: I thought you were typing...
23:38<Julian>I am, but I also just made use of my clipboard as a text buffer. :-) ...
23:39<grumpy>www.openspf.org is completely different from openspf.org. As per JohnP's explanation of JamesC's wants, they will be transfered to old.openspf.org and www.old.openspf.org with redirects of old URLs.
23:39<Julian>A note for any watchers: There are various reasons it has taken us so long to adopt openspf.org as the project's official domain. For one, James Couzens' priorities have been different from the project's, so communication between him and the council has failed for several weeks.
23:40<Julian>Anyway, we want to thank James for the donation of the domain! It is appreciated.
23:40<grumpy>(the council hasn't been very quick about approving the domain either...)
23:40<grumpy>Yes, thanks James!
23:40<Julian>(Does anyone else want to add to that explanation?)
23:41<Julian>(grumpy: Yes, very true.)
23:41*grumpy takes the lack of "..." as a sign of "no"
23:41<grumpy>Ok, shall we move on to item 2) ASMG?
23:41<MarkK>I still think we need a resolution in place that says we reserve the right to disallow content under our domain should this be horridly offensice, etc. Just a precaution, and NOT aimed at James per se.
23:42<Julian>MarkK: I think that's implicit. It's "our" domain now.
23:42<grumpy>I think it is implicit also.
23:42<grumpy>and I don't want to get into defining "offensive".
23:42<MarkK>Ok, if y'all think so :)
23:43<grumpy>all content under the domain is up for discussion on the new spf-webmasters list
23:43<MarkK>I do not forsee a problem, though
23:43<grumpy>Julian: you said you had some wording for the resolution to shut down the ASMG
23:43<Julian>Let's move on to #2, because Meng doesn't have a lot of time left.
23:43*grumpy agrees with Julian
23:44*grumpy assumes Julian is typing.
23:45<Julian>...
23:45<grumpy>(thanks... I was about to do a timeout. ;-)
23:45<freeside>mmm
23:46<freeside>btw, since the last time we met, i've moved to campbell, ca, and started to work full time on karma. on my todo list for this week: building a spamassassin plugin that does SPF *and* a reputation check against the karma system.
23:46<grumpy>freeside: wow, that is big news!
23:46*grumpy likes campbell...
23:47<MarkK>I didn't know karma was already in a workable state; good to hear it is. :)
23:47<Julian>Motion: Amend resolution #9 by inserting the following text at the beginning: "The below resolution is void, and its text is kept for historical reasons only."
23:47<Julian>s/is kept/shall be kept/
23:47<Julian>Nah, ignore that last s//.
23:47<MarkK>2347u: seconded
23:48<grumpy>votes?
23:48<Julian>2347u: yes
23:48<MarkK>2347u: yes
23:48<grumpy>freeside?
23:49<freeside>2347u: yes
23:49<freeside>gotta go!
23:49<freeside>bbiab
23:49<Julian>phew
23:49<grumpy>ok, motion passed.
23:49<MarkK>ok, at least he voted
23:49<MarkK>but we lost quorum now
23:49<grumpy>Uh, so no more quorum for right now
23:49<Julian>We don't need quorum for the reports.
23:49*grumpy wonders how long "in a bit" will be
23:49<grumpy>right
23:50<grumpy>Julian: do you have a report to make?
23:50<Julian>Yes, I think so.
23:51<Julian>...
23:51<Julian>A lot has happened since the last meeting. I'll try to summarize only the most important things.
23:52<Julian>1. I have finished configuring the new website. It is available at http://new.openspf.org
23:52<Julian>It has all the contents from the council website, which is now obsolete.
23:53<grumpy>I made some changes to the council website a few days ago, did you catch them?
23:53*grumpy goes and checks
23:53<Julian>Practically all non-council content is still missing, however. We need to transfer most of the content from http://spf.pobox.com there in the next weeks/months.
23:53<grumpy>the answer is: no, the changes were not transfered.
23:54*Julian goes looking for grumpy's changes.
23:54<grumpy>they aren't major
23:54<Julian>Ah.
23:54<MarkK>it looks good, julian :)
23:54<Julian>grumpy: Is it those two: http://spf.mehnle.net/Recent_Changes ?
23:54<grumpy>someone asked about who the council members are, so I updated it a little
23:54<Julian>Yeah, thanks.
23:54<grumpy>Julian: yeah
23:55<grumpy>did you get a reply from the webmaster?
23:55<Julian>The new website is write-protected like the council site. All council members have accounts. All members do know their credentials -- they haven't changed from the council site, and I have sent Greg his new credentials.
23:58*grumpy assumes that Julian is still typing.
23:58<Julian>The new website has a publicly editable "Community" section: http://new.openspf.org/Community -- sub-pages can be created by everyone, and the section can be used by community members to create content that is later moved into the official part of the site.
23:59<grumpy>does that area still require a login or something to prevent wiki spam?
